1. Who We Are

TinyFix Services ("TinyFix," "we," "us," or "our") is a home services platform that connects customers with skilled technicians for electrical, plumbing, and carpentry services.

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the TinyFix Technician mobile application (Android), which is used by registered service technicians to receive job assignments, navigate to customer locations, manage their jobs, and track earnings.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you register and use the TinyFix Technician app, we collect:

Personal Details: Name, phone number, email address, residential address, profile photograph
Identity Documents: Government-issued ID number and document, professional license number and document
Professional Details: Service specialty (Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry), years of experience
Financial Data: Amounts collected per job, payment method (Cash/UPI) used by customers
Job Completion Data: Work notes, completion photos, reasons for postponement or cancellation

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

The app automatically collects the following while you are using it:

Real-Time Location: GPS coordinates while the app is active. Used to assign nearby jobs and provide navigation to customer locations.
Device Information: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for delivering push notifications to your device, device platform (Android)
Activity Timestamps: When you accept/decline jobs, arrive at locations, start/complete work

3. App Permissions

The TinyFix Technician app requests the following device permissions:

Location (Fine & Coarse)

Why: To determine your position for job assignment, show your location on the map, calculate distance to customer locations, and provide turn-by-turn navigation.

When: While the app is active and you are logged in. Location is used for nearby job matching and navigation.

Camera & Photo Library

Why: To take photos of completed work as proof of service delivery when finishing a job.

When: Only when you choose to take or select a photo during the job completion process. The app does not access your camera or photos at any other time.

Notifications

Why: To alert you of new job assignments, job cancellations, and status updates in real time.

When: Notifications are sent when relevant events occur (new job assigned, job cancelled by customer, etc.).

Vibration

Why: To provide haptic feedback when new job notifications arrive, ensuring you don't miss assignments.

Internet

Why: To communicate with TinyFix servers for receiving job assignments, updating job status, syncing location, and loading map data.

Foreground Service

Why: To keep the app active in the background so you can receive job assignments and your location can be tracked for nearby job matching.

When: While the app is running and you are logged in.

No unnecessary permissions: The app does not access your contacts, call logs, SMS, microphone, storage (beyond photos you explicitly select), or any other sensitive data. We only request permissions essential to the app's core functionality.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Authentication: To verify your identity via OTP (one-time password) sent to your registered phone number and grant access to the app.

Job Assignment: To match you with nearby service requests based on your specialty, availability, and location.

Navigation: To provide directions from your current location to customer service locations using Google Maps.

Notifications: To send you real-time alerts about new job assignments, cancellations, and status updates via push notifications.

Earnings Tracking: To calculate and display your earnings, commission, and payment history within the app.

Safety & Quality: To verify your identity through documents, maintain service quality through customer ratings, and ensure platform safety.

Performance Analytics: To track job completion rates, average ratings, and response times for service quality improvement.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

With Customers

When you accept a job, the customer is informed of your name, specialty, experience, and estimated arrival time.

With TinyFix Administrators

Our admin team can view your profile, job history, location, ratings, and earnings for operational coordination and dispute resolution.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate the platform. These providers process your data as described in their respective privacy policies:

Meta (WhatsApp Business API): For OTP delivery and job-related notifications
Google Maps Platform: For maps, navigation, and route calculations
Firebase (Google): For push notifications delivered to your device
Microsoft Azure: For cloud hosting and secure data storage

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of TinyFix, our users, or the public.

6. Data Storage & Security

6.1 Storage

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Microsoft Azure (India region).
Your authentication token (JWT) is stored securely on your device using encrypted storage (Android Keystore) and is never shared with other apps.
Photos uploaded during job completion are stored securely in our database.
Identity documents (government ID, license) are stored securely and accessible only to authorised administrators.

6.2 Security Measures

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
Authentication uses one-time passwords (OTP) sent to your registered phone number via WhatsApp — no passwords are stored.
Login tokens expire after 8 hours, requiring re-authentication.
Rate limiting protects against brute-force login attempts.

Note: While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

8. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and applicable Indian laws, you have the following rights:

Right to Access

Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed.

Right to Correction

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and contractual obligations.

Right to Grievance Redressal

Lodge a complaint with us or the Data Protection Board of India if you believe your data rights have been violated.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly from the app by going to Profile > Delete Account. This will deactivate your profile and remove your personal data from active use. Outstanding obligations (active jobs, pending commissions) must be settled before account deletion.

9. Data Retention

Profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your profile is deactivated and personal data is removed from active use.
Job history and completion data (photos, notes, amounts) is retained for record-keeping and dispute resolution purposes.
Location data is used in real time for job matching and navigation. We do not retain historical location tracking data.
OTP codes expire after 5 minutes and are cleaned up from our systems within 1 hour.
Authentication tokens expire after 8 hours and must be re-issued through a new OTP login.
FCM device tokens are removed when you log out or delete your account.
Earnings data is retained for commission calculations and your reference.

10. Children's Privacy

The TinyFix Technician app is intended for use by registered service professionals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe that someone under 18 has registered on the platform, please contact us immediately at support@tinyfix.com, and we will take steps to remove their account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through a push notification in the app or via WhatsApp. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
